Good day at the track

No red lights is a good thing  and sounds like you have a great racer :burnout: enjoy

Anything Mopar that runs in the 10's is good with me. Good Job!

Thanks guys, I had the motor & 'Glide in a 2200 lb 'Glass Daytona, it ran 9:56 @ sea level. I had the same motor, but with a 727 /Grinner in a back half Duster with cast heads, it ran 10:80's @ sea level. Believe it or not, this car is heavy @ 3070 with out me in it.I weigh 216.When our track became an NHRA track, they re-set the clocks, and The Dayton ran 9:96.My wifes 360 Dart ran 11:90's and now runs 12:30's.Our 10:90 index for Super Street is 11:05, but the clocks are close to 4 hunderths slower based on what people have run at sea level. So that makes my 11:20's, 10:80's, I am good with that, as long as it is consistant.

Hi 70dart499
Here is a little trick I do with my delay box, and the full tree leaving off the top bulb.Instead of drilling the tree like a Pro tree the minute I see yellow, I relax, and put more delay in my box. I leave as I see the top bulb come on fully.
My last car with my engine tranny combo, was a Super Gas 2200# Daytona. It would go red on a 4 teenths Pro tree, I had to put .015 to not go red. So now it is a little different with a heavier car, and leaf springs.
My buddy with his tube chassis Cuda, always drills the tree and has good .005 lights, but he red lights a lot.I use to put 1.050-1.080 in my box (even in my old back half Duster), I now run 1.020. I have had no red lights this year (not saying I won't).All my losses have been break outs ( 2-3 hund.) from lack of data on the new car.( I am really learning fast how to drive the finish line backing into people).
A friend told me once, if you set up for .019 lights, you'll be good.Mine have all been
.011-.017 except for when I ran this sitting duck, I put .010 in to not go red. My light was .023 which would have been .013.
In the later rounds when it starts getting dark, I have gone .002 & .004 green.
Hope this helps, and I don't mean to sound like I am gloating,it just seems to work for me.
By the way, you know what they call us top bulb racers don't you? People that can't bottom bulb race! LOL
Chris

More of the on going Valinat drag race saga. Went to the finals Sat. was .011 to his
.030. Broke out by 2 hun. on the brakes. Good close race. Round 3 was the best.It was 7 second 183 MPH shivy dragester. I was .012 to his .027. He was 3 1/2 hun. off his number, I was 4 hun.off (dial fat with a digger) But the tree did the trick. My margin of victory was .0018. Nothing like a digger passing you at a 183 MPH, to your 120! Oh yes, got the by into the finals on the way! Number 7 in the Summit points for Super pro, my wife Tammy in her Dart is # 4 in pro.Not bad for 2 years off, and a new car.
