Had a good day yesterday !!! I ran Pro Dial ( .500 pro tree , any dial ) 1/8 mile , five round race , I had the bye fourth round into the Final

Congratulations. I see you deep stage on the 500 tree. If you Dont go deep what do your lights average.

Not good around 090. First round I was 016 , my worst light in eliminations was 030 to my opponents 066 second round I ran dead 7 , then 011 , 001 on a bye , then 008 in the Final . I had the slower car every round except the Final.

Super street (10.90 class) went to the .500 tree instead of .400 to even the field some for the Mopars years ago. It was a needed move that was really welcomed at the time.

I like Super Street but my car isn't fast enough only going 10.70s off the stop and I can't deep stage. I have inquired and they told me no deep staging. Engine is a 410 c.i. small block , 360 Magnum block , 9.5 to 1 compression , runs on pump gas, 585 / 595 lift mech .cam , W2 heads , Victor W2 intake , Holley 750 HP carb, TTI 1 7/8 headers

That combo has 10.50’s written all over it. Especially at an East coast track. Where do you race at. And what weight

I’m sure a transbrake would be legal in Super Street and needed. The one time I tried it I needed time in the delay box to be green.

Congrats! Very nice, now let's step it up for SS. Hmmm lol. There might be some lower hanging fruit depending on the weight. Does it have a '904' with a 2.77 first? I love the W2 stuff and had some on the shelf along with a good 360 block forever but, I resigned to the fact it was a project that wasn't going to happen soon. I'd bet a bigger carb would pick it up.
 
It’s hard footbraking on even a 500 tree, at least it was for me.
When I was really “on” I could go around 40 or so, usually more like 60.
I sponsored an 11.50 index at monster Mopar Norwalk for a few years, that was the only time besides a couple rumble events at Bowling green, Ky I ever got a chance to hit that kinda tree.
It’s fun. No deepstaging.

I found I was a little quicker looking indirectly at the tree, instead of staring at it.
By that I mean, seeing it out of the corner of my eye. That could be because I am blind in one eye, not sure, but it definately helped me.
 
With the lights he was cutting, don't change a darn thing!!
Yep !!! Island Dragway !! we tried a low first gear set in one of my 904s it didn't make any difference at least in my combo. It leaves well now: I only leave at 2,000 with a 4.30 gear and 4,900 stall 8 inch converter and my 60 fts are 1.58-1.61 deep ( 1.48 - 1.51 shallow ) I had my throttle stop set a little too fast , I should have been set up for 7.20-7.23 which equals 11. 50 .. I will be running 11.50 index in a few weeks. When the motor was on the dyno we tried a 950 and it didn't like it resulting in no real gain in h.p. or tq.

Cool car. Quick too, and on pump gas. Island Dragway was the very first track I ever raced at. I'm glad to hear it is still in existence. I always remembered where to turn off the main road by the strip club ( Cannonballs?) which was just before the turn off. That track at the time had the shortest shut down known to man! The nostalgia is making me weepy :)
