Hi! My name is Bill and I'm a caraholic.
Last year I finished my 66 Fury convert. Because of that, it's difficult to justify drinking beer in the garage while listening to loud rock and roll to my wife without another toy. In order to have a reason for my large expenditure of time in the garage, I decided to build a BB (400) '71 Demon I found for $400. I'm looking to make it a decent street/strip thumper. I've been looking in on FABO for a little while now, looking for ideas and tips. See you on FABO!

Hi Bill and welcome
I would love to see some pics of your Fury and the Demon as well ,

Welcome to the site Bill, glad to have you. I'm sure I don't need to be the next person to say.. pictures!! We love pictures here.

Heres the Fury .........

Welcome to the best A bodies site bar none! Glad to have new members! Your Fury is a sweet looking ride, what kind og shape is the demon in? $400 dollars is a good price what came with it? Engine, rearend tranny etc.

Well, here's the Demon.......... As you can imagine, it has the usual Mopar issues. Rotten quarters, leaks like a sieve, yadda yadda.....but at least its all there and the grille is almost perfect. So that alone is probably worth $200
All the running gear is worthless to me as I have a 400 and all the Schumacher stuff to put it in. (Another story I'll gloat about at another time)
as well as a 8 3/4 that I need to assemble.

As you may guess from the picture it had a vinyl roof but someone removed that and painted that rubberized pickup bed liner on it. That was a real treat to remove.

Glad you jumped in and welcome to this great sit Bill
Nice deal on the Demon and a very beautiful Fury.:-D
We have some of the best of the best tec's here and some great folks too.
Keep us updated and enjoy scoot439.

The Demons not in bad shape at all, especially for $400. It's complete even that's half the battle. Even if you are going to change some stuff, besides the usual quarters and stuff like that. You should see what I started with!!! Last pic is as it sits now.

Aloha! Very Nice Fury...one day I'll get a drop top...one day...envy in my typing!

Demon for $400..that would never happen on the islands... what a score!

As all folks have said..lots of good people to help here...parts and advice abound!

Aloha, Mike

Thanks all for the kind words!
I originally was going to BB a 73 Swinger I found for $200 a couple of years ago but I never could grow to like the pointed front end. So when the Demon came available I figured I'd buy it for the front sheetmetal but changed my mind when I considered how much more rear tire a Demon could accommodate.
My wife and I agreed that the total budget for this would be no more than 6K. So I spend a lot of time looking for things on the "cheap" (I know, it's a oxymoron) Therefore, I've been picking up needed parts over the last couple of years.
