8)question. i have a friend that has his own junk yard, he just keeps it for his stuff. not retail. he is a camaro guy and a super sport guy and thats what is there mostly. well during the 70s i was a cop and he was a cop and jailer etc. he would buy the big plymouth fury police specials 440's at auction (us cops hated them the manifold was so close to the valve covers they always leaked and stunk, cars were too heavy etc.) well anyway, he would buy them for nothing , take out the drive trains (all running, usually 80 to 100 K miles and put them in his barn and junk the bodies. bottom line is. he offered to sell them to me for a steal. he has 8 440s and trans, 1 truck hemi and std trans. i can get them all real cheap. question 1. Should I? is there a market for the 440s of that era 71 to 76. i thought about one for my dart but he says all or none. are the trans the 747? they are complete with alt, wp, etc. been sitting inside for 25 yrs. not looking for partners, just advice. im new to mopar land. i remember he was buying the whole cars at one time for 600.00 each. in 1973 bucks.
