Well today got my 408 back up and running..recap went from hyd cam to a mp 590 solid and ported my eddy heads and carn shop carb..well got it fired up just have to tune it now I have to say not to bad of a job.but those solid cams are soooo loud compared to hyd cam really clunky but I know it's gonna feel good to drive it Saturday...but every track is closing.fontana is closed so I guess I have to go back t stret racing..thanks for listening..

Cool. Let it break in a bit and you can tighten the lash a little. I never liked running MPs a the recommended because they sounded like sewing machines.

Yes I kept readjusting the valves because it was so loud but my buddy said that's how they are and I laughed I thought I messed up..lol...it is just really loud compared to my old hyd cam..but I'll get use to it still haven't drove it have to mess with timing and get some more vp110 and then we will see hope it scares me...mopar what do u tighten the valves to by chance?

I run the .590 in my 440 and i really like it, i set my lash at .021 cold.
