I think, found a 3.23 suregrip at U-Pick-It just got the third member. For cheap!BUT the car I took it out of looked like it had been sitting in someones shop that burned down the car was toasted!! 1967 B body when I pulled the drums off the shoe liners just fell out.And this piece in the pic came out when I pulled the center section, found half of it in the grease in the bottom of the housing, the pin looks to be broken, looks like its just a roll pin.Is this something I can replace, what is it called? I plan on taking it apart and checking the clutches and bearings, anything I should know before doing this,I know alot of questions all at once, sorry,Thanks in advance for any help,Todd

So I can just go to the store and get a new roll pin? Or is it special?

It is only necessary if you intend on retaining the factory style tapered roller bearings. If you convert to the newer style green bearing kit, you can toss it. Some say the old factory tapered roller bearings are stronger than the green type bearings....the old school in me tends to agree, but many more other types of axles have run the green type bearings for decades with great success....so I think the jury's still out on that. Probably not enough difference in strength to notice.
