Not an A body but thought you guys would appreciate this...

Long story but I'll try to keep it short... when I was a kid, my Papa (grandpa) owned a '65 Fargo. Everyone in the family has a close memory of him and that truck, and he sadly sold it. It was the one truck we would all say, "Too bad he sold it.."
I saw it in a private collection when I was about 19, doing a service call at a guy's house. He was super rude and didn't want me to look at it, even though I said, "Hey that's my grandpa's old truck!!" I hadn't seen the truck since but I was always keeping my eye out for it.
Fast forward to about a week ago, I'm driving through Qualicum and I see down a side road, the old Fargo parked there... I pull around and stop at the truck. A girl comes out and says it's her boyfriend's truck, and that he's actually thinking of selling. I leave my number, and get a text from the boyfriend. I mention that it was my Papa's, and it's very sentimental, that I would love to get it back in the family if possible. He says absolutely, and we came to a deal.
Yesterday I drove it home, SUPER excited to have it!!!
It's a '65 Fargo 100, 313 Poly, 727 auto with dash mounted shifter, 3.55 rear gears, and power steering! (rare in a Sweptline).
It was painted about 25 years ago, but still has the original seat, original rubber floor, etc.

Wow! That's a beauty

Great find there, congrats.

V8, auto, and power steering makes it a nice to drive pickup!

Beautiful truck, just out of curiosity what is the knob on top of the dash and the fold down gizmo between the speaker grill and shift lever?

Don't know about the knob, but "the fold down gizmo" is the ashtray. (It actually opens upward).

needs a supercharger and RMVB...already has the shifter for it! Beautiful truck! (don't let my wife see it)

Awesome truck. Congratulations on getting it back. We had a 63 Fargo stepside for a service vehicle at my dad's gas station.

That truck is beautiful!!

I wouldn't change a thing.

Glad you got it back , now enjoy!!

Was it always kept like that or was it restored? Beautiful truck.

Every lost Mopar story should end like that. Congratulations that is a sweet old girl. My Grandfather had a Buick 2 door 455 Rocket. It was in excellent condition at the time of his loss. 63,000 original miles. He was a farmer so he always drove the farm truck and kept the Buick in the "car shed." My sisters thought it was worth a lot more than the $3500.00 that I offered for it and out voted me and sold it to a farmer across the road and down a bit. I later found out he paid what I offered the estate for the car. The farmer who bought it was very wealthy and he put it in the Demo derby at the fair. He suffered a lot of backlash from my grandfather's friends for destroying that wonderful car but in the end it was still lost. Your experience has a great ending and again congratulations that's a sweet truck.

Congratulations Mike. Glad u found it and got it back. U must have a couple of great memories of u and ur papa in that truck. It sure is a nice truck. Enjoy it to the fullest. Kim

The old girl looks really good for being almost 60 years old.

Incredibly cool, and incredibly cool that you got it back. The story is as special as the truck!

great truck and even greater story ! i’m happy to found the truck AND at the perfect time !

Congratulations! I learned to drive a manual transmission in my Dad's '68 F250 when I was about 12/13 years old, and while it rotted-out a LONG time ago I'm sure, I'd give dang near anything to have that old truck in my possession.

Thank you for sharing this with us! I'm extremely happy for you!

(And also somewhat jealous! :))

Awesome story Mike! They don't get much better than that. It sure is beautiful! Papa is grinning ear to ear and patting you on the back!
