I was once in love... This was her.... It took me 32 years but I've got her sister in my garage now. Life is but a big circle or is it that we all want to be young and carefree again....
Anyway lets see your old FLAMES...!!!

Second car, actually. A '63 that I painted. I painted it in '69, notice the blacked out grill and trim rings. I was slightly ahead of my time I reckon. This pic was taken in NYS, just before driving it to my first duty station in Georgia, about April 1971. Drove the heck out of that car...
After selling it I bought a '67 Firebird, which I still own and restored last year.

wyoduster, you're a dead ringer for a guy I went to high school with. You're not originally from Kansas are you?

I don't have any old pictures of me with my first car, but I've still got the car. Maybe I can get somebody to take a pic of me & the car to post on here. Not sure though, a pic of me might scare people.

the picture is tiny but her she is. The first day i got my first car!

Nope I'm from Pennsylvania,a little town 45 miles northwest of Harrisburg. Been in Wyoming since 1992. And that picture was taken in 1976. Times were simpler then. And I'm not sure but I might have a gray hair or two now.#-o

I'll bet that every guy our age knew someone that your picture will remind him of.:thumbrig:

Well you know.... We all named our cars back then. It was the thing to do If you had a muscle car.
"Afternoon Delight" was born after laying beside my car an afternoon in a field with my favorite girl(who is still my favorite girl after 30 years).Need I explain more detail........
I still think its alright to name your car. Don't you? I feel a poll on that subject coming........

What is the name of the town?
I'm from that general area.

Here was my first car, a 69 Dart GTS. Owned this car for 20 yrs. I bought it in 1981 and sold it locally in 2001. It saw a lot of street action in the mid to late 80's, and occasional trips down the 1/8th mile. I also drove this car to the 1985 Car Craft Nationals in St. Louis, MO. and attended lots of local car show/ cruise in's with it.

Classic story my brother.
It looked like you had it going on back then.
Afternoon Delight......:hello1:

Okay, don't laugh. The "Cream Machine" was my first ride....a '74 Econoline camper van. I'm on the left. My second ride was another '74 Econoline, the "Blue Bomb". I only ever had vans, until the day came when I got the Barracuda, my first actual CAR

Again, I'm on the left (not sure why my pants are so short!)

My first car was a 27 T 2 door sedan body and frame (my friend now owns)that my dad gave me when I was about 5 years old. I traded it for a 73 elko when I was 12, sold that and got a 56 F-100 that I dropped 79 buick running gear in when I was 14. Sold the truck got a $500 73 camaro, blew that all to hell on the freeway and then got into mopars with a 70 challenger and never looked back. I will have to get the pics from my dads shop.

First pic is me and my brother in an electric car that my father had build for us... I am the one driving of course !LOL!..
Second pic is me again performing a "Dukes of Hazzard" stand!
Third pic is the car alone at my grandfathers village.
All pics are from the 80's, actually my father bought it in 1980 and its been with us ever since.

I don't have pictures either. But my first car was a 67 Mercury Cougar w/ a 302. I traded that to my friend for a 72 Plymouth Scamp w/ a 318. I sold the scamp and moved to Minnesota. Then I got a 63 Ford Fairlane with a 289. All neat cars. I should have kept the Scamp. I really miss that car.

good greif I am 36 and still have my first car .....got tons of photos.... ha ha
