Got the 2nd shift small fabrication supervisor position today! Interviewed on Wednesday as well as 2 others.
My supervisor said he really wanted me to get it as my fit/weld quality is second to no one in the area and thinks I have the leadership qualities to help bring the others up to the expected levels.

Biggest perk is an immediate $3hr increase with another $1 within 90 days and an upcoming 10% shift differential increase!! It will definitely be a blessing as it will help pay bills off especially with my wife's student loans kicking in in August.
Just hope I can live up to their expectations.
I will start some training on Monday and will be given full duties on the 11th of July. Work hours are 2:15pm-12:45am Monday-Thursday. Will get Fridays off! Well, unless we're on overtime.
Hopefully can also put some $$$ back for the Valiant as well!

Thought I'd share with my FABO friends!

Congrats! Nice when the supervisor notices your hard work and attention to detail.

is this at the same place you were ranting about a month or so ago. if so, Congrats!

Thanks, I sure hope so.

I'll have a crew of 6 welders/fabricators and will be monitoring their fabrication and welding of jobs. Make sure they stay on track and get jobs done in the given hours.
2 of them we just hired right out of "welding school" and 1 is a 21-24 yo gal who's pretty green yet but has some good TIG skills.
Another is a 40 something man who thinks he knows it all and the other is around my age and also applied for the position. I was told he may be transferring to another area.
The last one is a 22yo kid who's been in prison for burglary but now has a wife and 3 kids and has changed his life for the better....even with tattoos and those ugly 2" gauges in his ears, lol. Actually, he'll be my number 1...darned good worker.

I've been here longer than all their tenures combined, lol.

Congratulations man. I know you deserve it.

Good job....

But I always thought it was Assume the Position...LOL

Congrats on the new position Jeremy, good to know that your skills are being recognized and appreciated!! I know you'll do a fine job!! Geof

Congrats. It's hard to toil away doing good word and watch others less qualified get promoted. Sounds like you deserved it, good luck to you.

Thanks guys! Dennis, I'm glad I didn't sell it now, lol. Especially that i was able to put the 318 in it.

I just got in a few minutes ago from giving it a wash and wax :)

Congrats, now its about building up the team to make everybody better. Good luck and enjoy it.
