I got call from a local guy with a '71 Scamp that is interested in a partial trade for my 71 Duster aka Project /6 Beater. It is a project car in about the same condition as the Beater was when I got it but it is a 318/904/8-3/4 car. It runs but s not quite ready to drive everyday. It's been beached for a while. The interior sounds like it is trashed. Of coures, it needs a repaint but he said the body is pretty good and will only need a couple of minor patches before the paint work gets done.

The thing that really peaks my interest is that it is an original GY3 Curious Yellow/Citron Yella car. It is the first 71 Scamp I've heard of in this color. Anybody know how rare it is? I know this color is one of those love it or hate Mopar colors - personally I love it. It originally came with black vinyl top and interior.

BTW - If anyone has pics of one this color, please post thm :)

I've never seen a scamp that colour either. I'm not a fan of yellow, but done properly it is a very attractive car colour., that I really like. It really stands out.

I actually love the color. I painted a 72 RR clone that color last year and it really looks awesome in person. I've never seen a Scamp that color though...

DVAP used to have one in their wrecking yard. I would have loved to buy it, but like everything else that they have, it was WAY over priced. It looked way cool though. I would say that as a project car, that color ads $500 alone, once done. Probably more like $1500-$2000. Thats just my opinion though. Sounds like a way cool car.

Rare? Well they did not make very many scamps so I would think a Scamp in any color would be kind of rare. There is a 71 Scamp runing around town here with some kind of loud yellow paint on it. Don't know if it is GY3 or not.

ChallengerGary,
When I saw your car, I thought I saw it at the Nats in 05.
Close huh??

Found out he really does not have the cash for my Duster and is pretty reasonably priced on the projects. He has a ton of Mopar stuff though. Now, I guess I gotta get serious about trying to sell the Duster....So far I have only listed it on Craiglist. I guess I need to put a for sale ad here and maybe Moparts & eBay as well.
