It's just that, hard starting. The fuel pump is good but after setting overnight it acts like it doesn't get fuel. I crank it over about 10 different times, turning the key off inbetween, and hear it pressure up everytime. It gradually starts to hit until it does a rough idle. The rest of the day it's OK unless it sets for too long. 98,000 mile 1996 2500 Ram p/u.Thanks in advance.

are you sure its fuel? your crank sensor could be going out. check engine light on? you have obdII, so diagnostic codes should be in memory.

crank posistion sensor is a common culprit per what I've read at other forums. Asking at mopowerstyle.com might be more fruitful. Cheers

When was the last time the inate plenum was re-sealed? Does it use oil? Does it sometimes ping on regular unleaded?

Thanks for the responses. No, it doesn't use oil or ping. Where are the crank censor and inate plenum, can I check them?

The crank sensor is at the back passenger side of the block and is held on with 2 10mm headed screws, it reads off the flywheel.
A buddy of mine had the same problem with his jeep and the fuel filter was stopped up, the bad thing is, that it's in the tank. His had 170K on it.
