Need to get a new harmonic balancer dampner for '66 Barracuda 273 Commando - mild build up, about 285hp. She's a cruiser and occaisional 6000rpm shifting :D and I drive her about 500 - 700 miles a year...Any suggestions? I saw that Jegs & Summit have some inexpensive ones for around $70.00. Will these suffice? Right now I have the stock dampner and the insulator slipped, timing adjustment are by feel.

Anyone know where even to find a new one for the '66 COmmando 273? I'm striking out!

I don't know anything about the 273, well very little.....

wouldn't a 318 or 340 balancer work just the same?

use any pre 1970 smallblock they are all the same. 70 and up the timing mark is on the other side. If your outer ring moved it could fly off at any given time do not reuse it for any reason.
