Has anyone used a quicktime bellhousing in an a body, because it does not actually mention if it will fit with an a body like the ones on brewers do

You can use the 4.807 front bearing retainer on the O/D. It has the same bolt pattern as the 5.125 O/D front bearing retainer.

It’s a 75-76 so I need the larger retainer for the bellhousing

On the OD transmission, the bearing itself comes I. Two different sizes?
307 vs 308 bearing retainer

Ok so i might be a bit slow understanding this but for that one did you take a bellhousing with the smaller bearing and machine a spacer? Sorry I’ve been trying to find a bellhousing specific to the 75-76 5.125 retainer but if there’s some way of taking an older bellhousing with 4.80 retainer ring that would make all this much easier

That’s what my thread was asking.
“Can I used a large bolt pattern 4.08 bearing retainer to replace the large bolt pattern wider 5.125 diameter bearing retainer on a OD trans.

This allows me & you to use the large bolt pattern retainer with the smaller 4.08 diameter size on the OD.
I did this this was possible but I wasn’t 100% sure, so I made the thread.

The POWER of the forum! Wooooo!

Ok so you have 4.08 bearing retainer with a machined spacer type thing that fills the extra space? would that work for other bellhousings and which ones. I’m kinda new to this and have spent awhile figuring out what bellhousing would work which I thought was only the one with the 5.125 inch retainer bearing but would something like this Brewer's Performance - Mopar A833 4-Speed Transmission and Component Specialists work with an adapter ring to fill in the space between the retainer rings

actually i got off work and can look at this some more so that bearing retainer can be taken out of the transmission? and then be replaced with one which is smaller but does the one with the smaller 4.8 inch retainer bearing still work considering most of the bellhousings ive seen on brewers are 4.354 inch, and I cant find a lakewood bellhousing which fits the small block engines not sure if they just stopped making it

Check the included hardware that comes with the Quicktime unit, I believe they include adapters to fit the different bearing retainers. I'm considering the Quicktime housing but they are pricey. I'm hoping for a sale but good luck with that. I like that they are smaller than the OEM housing. It looks like the Lakewood smallblock housing is no longer made.
