Can you use the thin .025 head gasket with small block aluminum heads? Your input appreciated,Thanks Kevin.

yes...i used the mopar p4120094 head gasket with eddy heads on a 360 ...

hmmm.....bi metal app.

maybe work fine for a while maybe longer with a lil copper coat tacked up on both sides...

Not something I would do, but to tell you its a bad idea without ever doing it would be....

they came out of the package...and were on the engine for 5 yrs...LOL

The MP ones are not shims, but thin composite. If you removed them carefully and they didnt stick or pull apart at all, sure. Just pay very careful attention to chasing the threads, using the right oil, torquing in steps, and torquing in the right order. If the gasket surfaces were torn at all, don't re-use them. Also, I dont think the MP gaskets are pre-flattened so you may over time run into brinneling issues with aluminum heads. That's when over time the steel ring around the cylinders wears into the aluminum head and loses sealing ability. It will wear a groove into the head in some situations.
