Can a person install a set of Dougs 453 with them already bolted to engine? Do I need to remove the starter , or can it stay bolted up? The engine is going in fromthetop with trans connected. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

What I did was break in the motor with the old headers then after break in I install the ttis. The motor gets really hot on break in and can damage the coating. Now if your motor is not new then you can possibly install it all at once. I have never installed a motor with the headers so I guess I'm not much help. If it just won't go with the headers then you can lift it back out and remove the headers.

You won't be able to get the engine in with the headers attached. What most people do is tie the headers against the inner fender wells, drop the engine in, then bolt the headers to the engine.
