I'm at a turning point on my car
I have a 11:1 408 solid roller ,my car ran its best time of 11.2 117 this weekend

I have old Doug thorley 1 5/8 headers on it would it be worth it to get bigger headers on it or not worth my time? Ppl that have done side by side test or same thing plz que in thanks

You can go plenty quick with what you have. Are they Dougs D453.

5204 hookers 1.75 pipes work well, but, hang low.

tti, steps headers fit better than 5204, not much of a step up from Dougs.

tti 17/8 fit well, not that great for HP

Hedman are better than tti, require cutting a hole in fenderwell for #7 & 8 tubes. Seen these on a 420" sb go from 630hp with tti 1 7/8 to 665hp with hedmans, no other changes.

None of the large tube headers are inexpensive unless you find used ones. You may see a 5-10 hp difference with a header change. That's what I saw on a 480ish hp 360 going from D453's to 5204's . The others made no difference at the 475-500hp range, bigger tubes actually hurt the overall, peak and avg tq/hp numbers.
