So Ive got a couple of mismatched headlights in my 70 Swinger and want to upgrade to something more modern and brighter, so what are you guys running for headlights that seem to work well?

I went with something similar to this kit in both my Valiant, Vixen and my truck, Gladys, EXCEPT, I pieced together the kit using NOS Cibie E code headlamps and good quality Osram bulbs. I also upgraded each one with the headlight relay harness. I used a Summit harness on the truck, but that was before @crackedback was offering his headlight relay harness. I got one of his for the Valiant and I recommend it. It's very high quality. Between the relay harness and the good quality E code headlamps, it's literally a night and day difference, pun intended.

I'm sorry. I forgot the link. Before you pull the trigger, let @slantsixdan tell you if those are any good or not. There are some Hellas he likes and some he doesn't.

@RustyRatRod Im glad Im not the only one to name my vehicles! My 70 Swinger is Cindy, and my 2014 GMC truck is Lola :)
And thanks for the info, I had been looking at @crackedback relay harness as well, and will be going with it Im sure.

lol. Well, Gladys, my truck was the first one I ever named and I've had over 400 vehicles. I added some info to my post above.

I wouldn't waste money on LEDs to save my soul. Besides, I believe in every state, upgrading our cars to LEDs is illegal. Seems I remember reading that somewhere and it seemed legit. Dan will lay it on us when he chimes in.

Your local Toyota dealer has a great 7" halogen retrofit kit available for around 20-$25 that includes (2) Koito lamps and H4 bulbs. Ask for pn 8111060P70.

I'll probably never know at $37 each lol. Reviews aren't the greatest either, but take that with a grain of salt, slice of lemon and tequila!
They're probably a cheaper version of the regular Nighthawk, but still likely better than a lot of sealed beams.

Hate you bright light people.... it's like they are trying to burn my eyes out of my skull... and unless you live in the boonies i don't get why you want them, we have street lights...

I used 2012 Jeep Wrangler headlamps in the Jaundiced GT. They bolt in, but the harness side connector needs to be changed. I also put them on relays.

I dont need aircraft landing lights, just something brighter than holding a couple of zippos in the front. But I do agree with you, some vehicles out there have lights so bright Im sure that the driver can see inside my skull. Then you get the guys who have to have all four(sometimes six) lights on at the same time in the city blinding you to the point of migraine, THOSE are the ones that I really hate.

Nothing wrong with upgrading to some good halogen H4 conversions. The problem is all the idiots that don't know how to aim them correctly.
