I've looked at pictures, but can't find how the passenger side / headlight section of wiring harness runs from firewall to core support...and alternator wiring as well.
Would like it to run as it did from factory. Also, there's a plastic, square "clip" type thing in the harness (red arrow in picture) going to alt that looks like it possibly has something to do with "mounting" somewhere..? Was there something on factory valve covers for this..?
Any help is appreciated..! Thanks.

To begin with, the headlight harness is routed town the driver's side inner fender and behind the battery- the route should be obvious once you see it, since there is a recess in the fender where it goes, and it is held in place by nylon straps available from many repro houses.

It also feeds the washer motor and horns along the way.
Then it goes across the radiator yoke and feeds the head and signal lights.
The alternator (and AC if so equipped) harness is routed as you have it and was retained by tabs on the factory valve cover. It should be easy enough to make a small bendable sheet metal tab(s) to retain it, held on by a valve cover bolt.

I'm pretty sure the headlight harness runs along the driver's inner fender with the rest of the harness, then should pass through a hole in the core support, under the lip on the outside (Front) of the core support over to the right headlight/parking & side marker lights. I believe the alt wire runs along the top of the engine between the valve cover & intake, but not sure which side. The little white plastic thing IS a retainer for the harness & there was foldable tab on the right factory valve cover to hold it in place. Someone here will have a definite answer for you. You're doing a fantastic job by the way. Just get rid of the plastic fuel filter & long rubber hoses for the fuel line. Short sections of rubber fuel line are all you want on the filter, which should be metal. Plastic & rubber is a fuel leak waiting to happen.
