Here is a cheap and easy fix for a broken heater control cable. The one from the hot/cold control switch broke on my Dart.
What you're going to need is:
Lawnmower throttle cable
Piece of 2x4
Screw that fits into the curly q of your old cable
Mapp gas torch
Sturdy pair of needle nose
Side cutters "Dikes"
Electrical knife
I took the screw ran it into the 2x4, unpackaged the new cable, take your knife skin back the black shearing, then I took the "dikes" cut back the wire under the sheating. After that take the throttle cable start to bend it around the screw, now you will need to quickly use your mapp gas torch to heat the wire. As you heat it continue bending it until you create your curly q. Measure cable cut yo needed length and repeat the process. I wrapped mine counterclockwise on both sides.
