What are the chances my heater core is letting coolant into the ventilation system? Symptoms:
1) windshield and window insides sometimes get covered in a light film of something that's not water
2) coolant seems to be slowly disappearing from radiator overflow tank (but not leaking onto garage floor)
3) heater works just fine, I think (no other car to compare it to)
4) car interior smells vaguely sweet (could be normal?)

What options do I have other than add coolant, wipe down windows, repeat?

Lol the Inside of an old mopar shouldn't smell sweet should smell like raw power

This is a stock slant, so the raw power smell is easily overpowered by other odors. :)

And here is where you'll be..... right where I'm at :D

Has anyone had luck with a stop-leak product? My leak is pretty slow.
overhaul in a bottle, noth'n like it :D ..... just kidding.
some have had luck with it, but i'd just bite the bullet and put a new core in. Under 50 bucks and your time. You'll feel much better when it's done.

just like what your title says learn as you go someday you'll be giving advise like the rest of us grumpy old men

Stop leak products work best when added to clear water. Only way to get all the coolant out and clear water into a heater core is flush it. Flushing it could increase the leak.
Fact... Anything mixed with water in any containment will separate and settle to the lowest point. That's why majority of a stop leak product will end up accumulated in the lower rear of the block. Bottom line... try it if you want but don't bet on it.
