I'm putting a heat AC unit back in a 71 swinger . It also has a 73 dash so some of the connectors are a little different. I spliced a couple of newer connectors on .The color code looked the same.I ran the hot to the black wire in the 3 spd switch and the green wire on the blower motor to the green wire on the 3 prong resister connector. Now all 3 motor speeds work but won't shut off when I push the off button What did I do wrong? Thanks Jim

Not sure I can help. You admit you have adapted and changed the wiring. Best I can tell you is you effed up somewhere in this. I would download whatever service manuals deal with whatever year(s) you mixed together. Go through the diagrams carefully In some years, the diagram for the A/C electrical is not in section 8, it's rather in the AC/ heater sections of the manual

Many many years are available free at MyMopar.com. Some of them there are the efforts of guys right here

Thanks 273 appreciate the response I see one more wire that needs power so I'll check it to see if its hot. I copied so many diagrams off the internet but it looks like i only need these 2 and the vacuum diagram . It could be the off button may be junk too . thanks for the help Jim
