Been a long time since I posted, as I don't post much anyway, and been awhile since I have looked at this site. Really struggled financially for quite a few years but was able to keep my 69 Cuda and now with much better income I am ready to make some purchases, still cant do much.

I am going to the Mopar World Finals/Chrysler Classic in Norwalk, OH this year and since Mancini has free shipping if you pre buy and meet them at that and other events. I have decided I want to finally get a set of coated headers for my car.

I know about fitment and the PITA issues but I will actually have a guy put the headers on. He will be doing my suspension rebuild, since I work tons of hours, that I have had the parts for about 2 years now. I figure while the suspension is all torn apart anyway why not pay some extra and get the headers installed.

Also, what should I do for gaskets as I know most of the time the ones supplied are not the best. Thanks for the replies I hope to get back into the game.

    Jason

Jason, I have noticed that Headman and Hooker are the best on the market but not free from the need to be dented from time to time. IE, not evry header made has the same bend and weld as well as not every car is perfect.

I had a very good fitment with a set from Hooker this time round and last time it was Headmans. Both fit equally as good. Though, some people have nightmare installations.

As far as gaskets go, I have had very good luck with ethier Mr. Gasket Ulta seals or Fel-Pro's.

I guess powerwise what would be the best. This would be Hooker Comp to the Hedman both 1 5/8 and coated. It is a pretty well built 360. I know I am sorta at the mercy of the jigs but I get so lucky as I have Flotechs on now and have only scraped once, it was my fault would have needed a lift kit not to, and they literally dropped right in. I think Flotech's are bent basically the same but I wanted the thicker guaged metal and flanges. Another consideration would be who has the best ceramic coating out of Hooker or Hedman.

Power wise between the small block street headers are not really alot to be concerned about. If your flow techs are in good shape, keep them.

Also, the header coatings, I'm not sure whom as a better one over another.

Headman use's (Or used to use) HPC out of Ct. here on the east coast. I do not know whom Hooker use's.

Hedman still uses HPC. My headers are good where they usually get damaged but while I was till in the Army my dad and a friend of his went to move my car by pushing it, engine was out, well I'm not sure where the headers were but they turned the steering wheel and it got stuck. Well instead of seeing what was hindering the the wheel from turning they kept forcing the wheel and crushed a tube almost shut.
