I just picked up a 73 360/4 speed setup that was soposidly in a 71 Dart, and I was wondering it someone can ID it for me. Its an Iron case 833 with ...

C-99386 on the cover
C-99129 on the side of the case
C-99126-1 on the tail shaft

I have an aluminum OD A833 in my Duster now and I dont know if this is an iron cased OD or a regular 4 speed.

Can anyone tell me what I have? And what would be the better trans to use? Its a mild 360 bored .030 with what I think are low comp, 4 valve relief cast or hyper pistons, J heads with 2.02 stainless valves, and adjustable rockers with dual plane intake, holley 650, and headers with a Comp xe 274 cam. All in a Duster with 3.91 rear and 28" tires.

Any help would be appriciated

Need some schooling on manuals, always ran autos till I got this Duster. What is the bearing retainer, is that the housing bolted on the caseon the front of the tranny were the input shaft goes into the housing?

Also found the ID pad and as far as I can tell the numbers are...

4B297511
PP83 4575

Going by the bearing retainer size, it looks like a non OD unit, which I guess is better for high HP, but I might be better off just sticking with the OD trans for a 400 or under HP 360 with 3.91 for the street.

Yeah, thats the one. Let it go for $500 with the iron 4 speed, tore it down and most of the cylinders looked 100% fresh, no ridge at all. Only downfall is it must have gotten water in 2 cylinders due to not having the intake on it and got a little rust, should be able to hone and slap it back together though, but the crank, rods and pistons look almost new. Even with finding a little rust in the 2 cylinders, was a killer deal.
