HI ALL! I AM TAKING THE FIRST STEPS TOWARDS UP DATING THE FRONT BRAKES ON MY 69 CUDA,TO DICS BRAKES I HAVE REMOVED THE RT FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM, STRUT ROD, TORISON BAR, BUT CAN NOT GET THE UCA BOLTS OUT TO REMOVE THE UCA, ANY IDEAL HOW? ALSO FOUND THE UPPER REINFORCEMENT THAT THE UCA BOLTS GO THU IS ROTTEN AT AT THE BOTTOM WHERE IS IS WELDED TO THE FRAME RAIL, FROM READING OTHER FORUMS IT LOOKS LIKE I CAN WELD IN SOME PLATES TO CORRECT, BUT ANY WAY ANY IDEA ON HOW TO REMOVE THE UCA BOLTS? THANKS!!! :banghead: :newb:

Lots of penetrating oil and work them back and forth while trying to remove. A pry bar might get them started. I do have a pair of those brackets (still welded to short sections of frame) that I am looking to sell if you find that to be necessary.

I fought one bolt on each side for hours, my arm felt like rubber from hitting it back and forth with a hammer. Here's what you do. After soaking with penetrant, hit it with an air chisel fit with a blunt tip. Both came out in a couple of minutes!!! I still had to go back and forth a couple of times, and kept spraying them with penetrant. I had the air chisel, but had to borrow the blunt tip bit. I brought that guy a 12 pack when I returned it!!!

Oh yeah, and wear eye AND ear protection. An air chisel working in a wheel well will make you deaf!!!
