give me some of your thoughts om my time slip please...rea. 296/1st 1.683/2nd 4.879/a d et. was 7.637/ at 87.628 mph. it has more init with some tune what do you guys think about it....340 jheads.mild port work.comp 520/540 soild xcel intake 950 hp 80fr/88bk no pv a 1 inch spacer.33 degree time locked out 727 with 9.5 verta 5000 .4.57 gears and 27/10.5 qtp mp drag shocks in a 70 duster..i leave at about 2000 and shift at 6200 but its up on the 7000 pill in the msd so fast...would big tube headers work better..right now i have small tube into 3inch pipes into 3inch flowmaster cut off at rearend.thanks for the help

That's like a 12.10-12.15 1/4 time at about 110 mph .

The 1.68 60' and the incrementals are pretty close to in line.

It might want a bit more shift RPM with the solid cam. If running race fuel, pump a few more degrees of timing in it.

Start adjusting the tire pressure (highest and still hook), launch RPM, shift RPM, jetting and timing to see how it moves the times. The fun has just begun!!!

:burnout:

hnaks guys itis been fun working and tuneing this thing got a few more things to do this winter...

Sonnds like a fun ride! Headers with a 1.75 inch primary would probably help, but I think your main bottle neck is the heads.

I would suggest a new convertor. 9.5 at 5K is not really as efficient as something like an 8" in that stall. What rpm are you pulling in the traps now? I'd also agree on more timing. Experiment, but I'd think something closer to 38° might get you a little more from it.

hay tha ks guys i plan 2 go to a 8 inch verta but 904 i hope the 1 i have is a dynamic...i also got a set of big tube headers i can try didnt use them thought i would need the lowend..i know i need tires going slick this time hope to try it one more time this year...bigger jet and spacer and diff. rpm from the gate..this cam works from 2500/6500 i think what should i be trapping at...right now i leave at 2000/and shift at about 6200/cross trap about 6500 i got a 7000 chip in the msd should i go to the 7000 in the trap and shift at 6500..also i know its going to be diff. this time since jetand spacer...

If Everything Works Correct The ET Should Be 11.967 In The 1/4.It Depends On Slippage etc. For 1/4 Trap Speed But 108.42 Is What i Come Up With.
You Are Flashing The Hell Outta That Converter If You Are Leaving At 2000 RPM.Why Are you Leaving That Low?The 10.5 Tires Should Be PLENTY Big Enough. They Should Be 28's Though..If You Have Them Mounted On An Eight Inch Rim This Would Make them Close To 28.1 or 2 In That General Area.
The Converter Is Way Too Loose.I Use The Same Converters Out Of My Super Stock HEMI Car in My '68 B-Fish With 340.It Is A 9" J 38-4200 With Anti-Ballooning Plates,Steel Stator,And Built To My Specs.I Have SEVERAL Of These as I ALWAYS Have a Spare. The Trans Is a 727 With Cheetah Manual Reverse V-Body.I Have a 4.88 With Spool.I Run 1 3/4 Headers That Are Crappy Coated(Not Jet-Hot Or anything And Not Inside Coated).I Run Them Into 3" Tube And Into 2-Chamber Flowmasters(3" In And Out With Both Being Centered). After The Exit Of The Muffler I Have Them Side Exit At 45o With 3" to 4 1/2 Stainless Tips Exiting In Front Of The Rear Tires. The Heads Have a Basically Clean-Up On Them With Stainless Valves And Proper Springs Installed.I Have a .590 MP Cam.I Have Wiseco Pistons With Childs And Albert Dura-Moly File Fit Rings And Eagle SIR Rods. The Compression Is 10.83-1.Having The Distributor Locked Out is a Mistake.Put Quick Advance Springs In It and Run At 36o Setting at 3600 RPM.I Launch At 30-3200 RPM.I Shift At 6800 1st 7000 2nd.I Have A MP M-1 Single Plane Intake With Air Gap(Looks Like A Big Block Intake With Base Plate.I Run A 984 CFM Carb Shop Carb.I Have a 30CC Front And 50 CC Rear Pump.I Have 50 MM Squirters Front And Rear.A Holley Blue Fuel Pump With A Fram FF-1 Fuel Filter Direct Out Of The Tank To Screen Everything Before Going Through The Filter With 3/8 Line To The Front And A Holley Regulator And 2 -6 Lines To The Carb.I Have A MSD 6-T With Soft Touch Add-On For Ignition. The Tires Are 275/60D/15 Hoosier Quick Times On A 7" Draglite Rim(It Is 28.13 In Height).I Use 12-12 1/2 #'s Of Air.My Fastest Time Was A 7.362 at 98.78...That Calculates To A 11.536 1/4 At 118.20(I Actually Run It in 1/4 and Had A Time Of 11.557 at 116.94).This Was Going From A 1.62 60' To A 1.74.(Track To Track And From 72o When Running The 1/8 To 84o Running The 1/4 on an Ill-Prepped Track).
The Car Is FULL Street Trim Everything That Came From Ma Mopar And A Couple Additions. It Weighs 3440#'s Without Me in it..Im 285#.I Run 002-003 SS Springs With A Stock Style Shock On Rear .8 3/4 Wit 10-2 1/2 Stock Brakes In Rear And Wilwood Fronts.90/10's in the Front with 26 1/2 Street Tires.

If You Would Like Anymore Advice Holler....The 904 MAY be a lil faster But I Have Replaced Sooo Many of them that the 727 is the best Bet in the long Run...AND I Dont Have To Buy Any Other Converter(I Just Use My HEMI Ones).I Put 250-350 Runs A Year On This Car And Have Tested Alot Of Different Things On It...
