Hemi scoop on a Duster- was it ever offered by the dealer?

I am looking at a gray area for a class I may get into at a local track. The rules say no forward facing scoop unless OEM. So was the Hemi scoop ever offered from the dealer as an Add-on or there abouts?

OEM means from the factory, so dealership add-ons would be excluded if not specifically mentioned in your rule book.

Do you know by chance which scoops were put on the Dusters at the Factory?

I think the only scoop offered from the factory on dusters were the twin scoops that came on the twister, 71 & 72 and 73 had the cast scoops that were previously used on the 69 cuda's.

I had a 70 Dart 340 that had the twin scoops on the hood.

Darts & Dusters are not the same. No scoops on 1970 Dusters with 340s.

My 70 duster. My other 70 duster ran stock super stock and stock elimator. It had a fibreglass hood with a six pack scoop. Kim

Thanks for all the replys..... So when these parts were designed for the LO23 cars, did the parts come from Hurst meaning they designed them or was it a Mopar item that was actually installed at the Hurst facility? My knowledge about the cars is extremely limited and I may ask this over on the SS page...

I'm not schooled on Hurst cars . However, Sox & Martin's Pro Stock Duster had what was called a "Pro-Stock" scoop but I don't think it was factory . Rather over the counter part from Mopar . FYI , scoops of less than 3" high have little effect on performance due to the boundry layer of air as it passes over the flat hood . The air just goes over the top of the scoop . I would try the S&M scoop just for giggles .

Duster hood? Never got questioned on this style. The best, Next to the T/A Challenger style. As per Direct Connection Manual.

I opened my hood with a large hole and sealed the filter housing. Less drag on the big end and grabs air better.

The brown hood I just did for my other Duster. I bought a hydraulic punch it goes up to 4 1/2 " Works perfect Making it look stock
