I think it was you that posted the deer the other day, couldn't find the post though...Pa deer season opened today and look what I found at 9:30...

is that a 7 pointer, nice rack where in PA i used to hunt PA near the tioga county line NY PA border

It's an 8 point, got them on public game lands about 15 minutes from home. Been hunting the same spot for 22 years. It is nice to get the deer right away, I take the first week of the season as vacation every year so maybe I can get some Dart time, and the wife wants Xmas decorations. Still gotta get the boy hooked up though, so back out in the morning. I fish a lake up in Tioga, never hunted it but saw alot of deer when fishing.

Now the work starts. We did six of em. Made 110 lbs of summer sausage and 30 lbs of jerky. Good stuff. Them pictures are harder to get on the hoof. It's on the post " Just Testing"

I usually don't go hunting for deer, they appear outside my house all the time. I'm fortunate to live in the sticks. Recently saw a nice black bear out back. Turkeys and all sorts of wildlife near here. Tioga county Pa is my home turf, and I now live in the next county over. Hunting is a great past time, although I get as much enjoyment out of just being outdoors.

I'm familiar with Gillett I used to run a RTO store in Elmira..I drove through Gillett one day and don't remember what it was I saw sitting ( i think a Nova), anyway I stopped and talked to the guy and next thing ya know he's taking us to a shed at the rear of his property where he has a couple chopped top Merc's...
And yes, we always shot wisely...
