"Special tools" to measure lifter preload. Finally got my head out of my a$$ and went and gathered up some scrap wire......welding wire, about .035, some tig rod about .063, a piece of hardware "haywire", .053, some copper magnet wire is .084, and of course the obligatory "coat hanger" is about .092. Just got each lifter on the base circle, and stuck the wire between the plunger and wire clip, and they all fell in about .053---estimated .065--.070

I didn't figure on THAT. EQ heads on LA roller, reground cam so the cam base circle is smaller, and Felpro 1008 gaskets. THE FACTORY Magnum pushrods and valve gear fit fine!!

Well how bout them apples? I knew you were on to something when we talked on the phone. "Most people" would have said screw it and just gone adjustable, but you actually did the work and found out. You're a dying breed sir. But I hope not anytime soon. lol
