I have a 1965 dodge dart which came from the factory with a 273 and 904. Somewhere along the way it lost the 273 and i picked it up with a 318. The car was totally taken apart and has had been repainted now and im installing a cast crank 340(1973) with J heads. I purchased the schumacher 273/318 to 340/360 engine mounts and a flexplate with weights that will work with the 340 and mount to the 904 torque converter. (The only reason im using the 904 is because of the cable operated shifter setup.) The problem im having is with the exhaust manifolds. I tried the 340 hi po ones, which were totally out of the question because of steering box interference. Then I tried the 318 manifolds the passenger side works fine just like it did with the 318 in there but the drivers side will not seat flush on the rear two ports of the head. Is there any other manifold I can use?? I do not have the money for the tti header setup right now. Thanks for any help, its greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the site! Ahh, the dreaded early a-body exhaust problem....:angry7: You could use 64-66 a-body 273 manifolds, you wouldn't loose much power over the 340 exhaust manifolds, what year manifolds do you have? Do you have power steering? That takes up a lot of room. Check out this link, he installed some 68-70 340 manifolds on a 66 Barracuda. I have Hooker Fenderwall headers on my 66 Valiant, I really like them! Lets see some pics of your Dart!!
