thought i would put this in here, so as not to muddy up Asa's thread

anyway, back when i had time to build models, i decided i also wanted to make my own decals
i would buy both white and clear decal paper and print them decals right from the house

(i even made a small trade business for parts out of it, license plates, truck call outs, that kinda stuff)

anyway, you made the "picture" in whatever you are comfortable with, paint, photoshop, whatever and print it out
i always printed a few test runs to make sure i got the scale right

then you print it on the decal paper, let it dry and shoot some clear coat over it

a day later, you are ready to apply the decals

i will try to grab some new pics later, but here are some stinking photobucket ones

be nice, thats the missus on that hood there

Here are some better pictures

The GTX, If I remember right, came with the strobe stripe

I simply grabbed a "GTX" logo from the trunk and enlarged it some

The Pontiac, as mentioned is a black and white picture of my wife

If I remember correctly, I painted the hood body color, and then silver
Then applied the decal and shot the blue over that

And finally, the GTX I made to look like the matchbox
I didn't think the red panel line would look good so I found some image of black marble and filled the red panel line with that

That decal was exceptionally difficult, since I printed it on white paper, and had to cut it out without screwing up the red (or showing the white)
