Hi guys i havnt been on her for a while, and i stoped back to say hi and ask some questions. I might buy a 68-69 cuda (havnt seen yet, it sucks) but anyways i was looking at places to buy fiberglass fenders and hoods and such, i learned how to do fiberglass work in my auto body class and was wondering if i could use the fenders off this cuda (if i get it, or else i'm gonna keep looking) and make like a type of mold from the exzisting fenders as in put wax paper over fender, make a cast out of bondo/fiberglass (which one) then make a cast on that to get it exact so its not a lil bit bigger, does this sound like it could work or no go? thanks guys

btw looking for a mopar car anything with anything in my area***

It can be done but by the time you spend all the time and money for everything to do it you would be better off just buying a set. If you still want to do it make the mold out of fiberglass. You'll have to bondo/ beat the old fenders till they are pefect (the mold will transfer any imperfections and make it look like crap. You'll also need the spray release (kinda like saranwrap in a can) I belive it's possible to just use ALOT of past wax on the surface instead...it'll be slick enough to seperate (I'd use the spray) Then after all the you have to come up with reinforcing (don't want it to fly into a million peices on the highway after all that!
I'm not saying don't do it but if you're going to plan on making more of them and sell some of them to make it worth your while.

ah yes i see i was thinking of how you would inforce the fenders so they stayed on and yeah it does sound like alot of work, i was maybe thinking of doing it but if i really wanna save weight, i'll just end up buying a pair of fenders, and hood of course :thumblef:
