I love steering wheels with horn rings. Unfortunately, in 1971, it was history.
I have had a look to a 1970 steering wheel from B bodies, but they are outpriced.
So, I made my steering wheel with a horn ring.
I took a '71 horn pad purchased on ebay and grafted on it a '68 horn ring after removing its central part.
I then fixed the three horn ring spokes onto the metal support of the OEM horn pad with a two-components glue (Loctite special metal).
Okay, visually, the horn ring spokes angles don't match exactly the steering wheel spokes ones. But it works perfectly and I can eventually go back to my original horn pad in a couple of seconds.
Now, I can horn with my thumb without leaving the wheel
