Has anyone put an Edelbrock Super Victor intake under a stock 1970 Duster hood? The manifold looks pretty tall to me.

I'm only asking as they make this manifold in an EFI version and I'm looking into converting the 340 to EFI. Throttle bodies are usually a bit shorter than carbs so there are a few options to decrease the height slightly.

Thanks for the help.

'71 Duster, stock flat hood, a Victor W2 fit no problem. Don't know whether the SV is taller.

Carb was a Holley style 750 DP on regular gasket.

Initially it had a cheapo 3" tall air cleaner with a slight drop base, there was plenty of clearance. Later I put a Quick Fuel air bell on it with a K&N filter top which sat on top of the carb. Still fit but it was tight.

If you have the engine in, tape a piece of string to a fender top and pull it tight across where the carb stud is, then measure down to the carb pad on the intake. That should give you an idea how much room you have.
