Is it possible you have the Ds switched? You know the Ds are actually different from each other. Different part number and different mounting stud placement. Only reason I mention is because in your pic that middle D looks crooked.
Hope you locate the lip.

Its possible. The holes were crooked like that though...but perhaps the other D is made for it.

No luck so far. I went through a lot of trim so far. I have a very small section left, not looking good.
