Hood scoop

No screens. They had rubber grommets in the holes to keep water from going in engine compartment.

If your converting a hood, I believe the holes should be 4 1/8" if I remember correctly. Also, there may be notches in the underbracing that show where the studs/nuts go for locating scoops. You will also see a semi-circle cutout for the large holes.

I found a company that sells the template for the hood scoops

grommets go in with the tall side up into the scoop - it keeps most water sheeting up the hood in the rain from running down onto the engine

I thought it was 4"... built a homemade Ram Air setup kind of like demon x2s, somebody cut two holes in there but they're not centered up and they're not 4" or 4 1/8", one of the guys on here built one and he is three holes which actually works out pretty good due to the fact you need 30 square inches of air according to the Mopar performance chassis manual for it to do any good for a fresh air induction... if my memory is right to 4-in Circle gives you like 12 in or 12 and a half inches per hole so three holes would be plenty. My Ford Buddy told me to take the whole triangle thing out between the braces but then if it rains I think you're screwed at that point and it rains here all the time in the summer, and the spring, and the fall... and sometimes in the winter here. ..

I measured a factory hood and the holes were 4.125" If were inclined to use 4" it would still work but the grommets may fit a little snug.

MEASURE your hood grommets first. The holes I made were 4 1/8” as per all of the information I found. They were TOO BIG !!! My grommets were from DMT . You have been informed !!

better that they be snug and therefore working than loose and ineffective - ask me how I know this
