Hood Trim Removal?

Hi,

This should be something easy, I need to get the trim off the front lip of my hood so i can sand it and paint it. It's the bulge hood on a 69 Dart. I try to turn the caps on the studs and it appears they are both turning or maybe the caps arent on the threads anymore? If anyone has an idea let me know.

Had the same problem, had to hold the nuts with a needle nose or wedge a screw driver in to hold the nut from turning.

I wasn't sure if there was something else I was missing. I'll give that a try and let you know how I turn out.

When I run into captured nuts spinning inside the trim I grind or otherwise cut the bolt heads off and replace all the hardware.
