Hi I'm new on this board..i did put a 383 together and would like some info on how much power you guys think it will put out..Engine is .40 over Port and polish Maxwedge heads and ss valves,Crower Cam 32243 and matching springs and retainers,M1 or Tunnelram???750 cfm or 2 390 cfm???,3400 stall built 727 and 9 inch tubbed by Currie,19.5x33x15 Wheels with 5:29 gears.Let me know what you guys think.it's my first mopar and it came with 6cyl and aut.

Well 10.5 comp ratio.Roller rockers,282-292 and @ 0.50 228-236 lift 478-502..Headers..

I'm hope she will be around 2850-3000 lbs with glass hood and only the trunk

Well lets see, you didn't mention comp ratio so I'll guess 10.5 to 1. The crower cam is kind of middle of the road (not to wild, not to tame) cam for lift and separation but I'd go with the M1 and instead of 750 go with 850 cuss with those 5.29 gears you must be racing 1/8 mile. Flywheel ponies between 450-475.

Here's the cam. http://crower.com/misc/cam_spec/cam_finder.php?part_num=32243&x=30&y=7

is this engine already together ? if so what's the cc of the heads and what pistons did you use ?

In 1968 the stock ratio was 10.5 to1 John RR ?????????????

No in 1968 the stock ADVERTISED ratio was 10.0 , but what's a half point between friends. The ACTUAL ratio was 9.3 , if you were lucky , that's why I am asking what you have vs. what it appears you are ASSUMING.

Do not ASSUME when it comes to the 383 .

To get 10.0 in a 383 with the open chamber head you need a 79.5 cc combustion chamber with the piston poking .020 above the deck with the .021 shim gasket and a piston with NO VALVE RELIEFS. With a closed chamber you would need zero deck, .039 gasket and I'm going guess something around 72cc for chamber volume .
