How hard to move suregrip from 742. housing to 741?

I have a 742 chunk with suregrip but highway gears but have a 741 with the gear ratio I want but no suregrip. Is it just a swap and tweak the gear mesh or is it more than that (different spacers, etc).

Just swap the ring gear from the 741 to the sure grip from the 742 and stab it back in the 741 and set the backlash. Done deal.

It's not quite that simple but not much harder. Get a factory manual or do a search on here to find the procedure for getting the carrier bearing preload set correctly and how to R&R the ring gear the right way and setting the backlash.
