I have a 74 Duster. Not sure but beleive the rear end is 7 1/4 soince it is a standard 318. No drain plug....will have to take cover off to drain and add fluid from the top. How much fluid will be sufficient? No plug hole to determine correct amount.

Thanks...........David

David I'm not sure how much a 7-1/4 or 8-1/4 holds but I know the 8-3/ in my Cuda only held 2 qts. so I'm sure yours won't be more than that. Just get 2 and you should be good to go.

BTW: I understand that it don't have a drain plug cause none of them did but It has to have a fill plug somewhere or you wouldn't be able to get the fluid in. I think the 7-1/4's have the same setup as the 8-3/4, a plug in the pass side of the main case. I had a 8-1/4 in a Dakota and it had a fill plug in the rear cover.

Yes it does. I may not have made myself clear. But it is up on top. The original owners manual calls for 2 pints......not quarts. 1 quart just seems a little low to me.

Ok I gotcha. If it's a 7-1/4 I bet that's about right. Their a very small rearend. I was surprised to find out my 8-3/4 (which is a fair size rear) only held 2 qts.
