Ho much HP will a 2.75 inch driveshaft 7260 Uni's take. I dont want to upgrade to a 3 inch due to expense. Im guessing I have 400HP in my 408

what size and kind of back tire will you be running and what rear end and what car and auto or manual trans?

Torque is what tears stuff up, not horsepower and any decent 408 generally has real good torque. If it doesn't hook up good you have no problem but if it does hook good and spits the shaft out it'll most likely take out the 727 with it so you'll not only be buying a driveshaft but rebuilding or replacing the trans too. It could even ruin the yoke on the rearend. Now how expensive is that $300 driveshaft looking!

Yep, the accepted rule with a 727 is if you blow a driveline or it even comes out because of a failed U joint that the trans should come out for an inspection at the very least, and a rear sprag replacement highly recommended.

$300 I wish. More like double that down here.

Ok. I didn't know where you were from but my point should still be valid. If the driveshaft is double that what does a transmission rebuild/replacement cost?
