I have two vent windows for my 1970 Dart. One has beautiful chrome trim with the inside latch, but is non-AC clear glass. The other has the tinted glass that I need and pitted crappy chrome. So how do I get the chrome and the glass apart and reinstall the tinted glass in the nice chrome?

If asking about the pivot frame with the latch it just pulls off the vent glass and is reinstalled with glass setting tape.

Heres a 67 cuda one . Like Scott said glass is set in channel with tape of some sort. The lower chrome peg has a locating pin/dowel in it.

Check with a local windshield installer, or run through Google to see if anyone sells it in reasonable lengths.

A local glass shop should have setting tape for doing mirrors in frames, etc. Your local windshield guy won't know what you're talking about these days. You are looking for 0.050 or 0.060 tape, both will work. Section on "how to" starts here in my Bee restoration thread...

If you end up stuck, I can help you out on the tape but postage costs will suck across the border. I found the .060 worked good on the vent glass. If you have a vehicle that has the stainless trim on the trailing edge of the door glass, like a B body hardtop, then I find .025 works nice.
