Pook a hole in the glue seal and push a guiter string through and find a frend to pull from the inside and you on the outside. :pain10:

rt7413, I responded to your question a while ago but it doesn't seem to have posted so I'll try again.
As Mike said, you need some type of wire "saw" to cut through the old sealer that is between the glass and the rubber. If there's a Princess Auto store near you they sell one with wooden handles on each end and the wire in between, and I believe they are right around $10.00.
However, the first thing I would do is check the price of a new gasket, and then check the availability and cost of a replacement rear window. It's a lot cheaper in the long run to just take a utility knife and cut the gasket away from the window - VERY CAREFULLY - then put in a new gasket when you put your window back in place. It's very difficult to remove the window without cracking the glass, and the old gasket is probably toast after 40 years anyway. It can be done at home, but I'm not certain if the effort is worth the price of a replacement gasket. Hope this helps.

Mike, I see we finally got you and Socket converted to Canadian Club Whiskey. :)

ya oldfart i think iam going to just cut the gasket because it pretty dryed out and cracked in places ! old fart another question did 67 cudas have thw chrome window trim around windsheild and back window?? and o ya where might i get a new window gasket??

Oldvart has been there before.
here is to oldVart. :drinkers:

Oldfart's are something Good too.
hahaha :prayer:

I believe the 67 had a plastic type push in around the windshield, and they were prone to cracking. A lot of folks upgrade to the 68-69 style. As for the chrome trim on the 67, I really don't remember. I had a 68 coupe back in the late 70's and I THINK it had the chrome trim, but I'm not 100% certain. Old Timers disease. :) I'm sure some of the folks with 67 Cudas can answer that question for you.
As for replacement gaskets for the rear window, I think Layson's and Year One both have them. There's also a place in Saskatchewan that has them but I'll have to see if I can find the name and tel. number for you.
