Im sanding my enginebay and i want to remove my hood tensioner rods because they are in the way of getting to some areas, whats the best way to do this............without loosing a finger? Thanks
I guess no one was done it. Heres my guess, the last ouner of my car had the hood mount off, so i pulled back on the rod and had my wife push the bracket into place. I guess ill just repeat this, but have my wife pull back instead.
well i put hood spring remove in search here and got 16 pages to look through. no luck. Found a lot of info on replacing those with later model coil spring type hindges. My personal experience has only been with deck lid springs. Small piece of pipe works there. I'l have to suggest removing the hood first and let someone else remove the springs.
Once the hood is removed. use a giant channel lock get a good bite on the bar and pull it away from the bracket. It's much easier to get them off than back on!
