Master of None
Well, I wanted to verify that the engine/tranny matched on my 65 Dart 273, because I have a vibration issue going on, and in another thread, it was brought up that if you adapt a later-model 273 to an earlier tranny, that you will get a vibration if you don't use a bushing in the crank for the torque convertor.
I had always thought that the Vin was punched into the oil pan rail on either the LH or RH side, but I can't find it on either on this little 273. I was able to see that the casting date on the engine was 12-9-64, so that seems like it should be the original engine, as the Fender Tag says the car was built January 28th of 65.
I was able to find the numbers on the tranny pan rail, but I can't remember if they're supposed to match the car, or just the engine.
The numbers I got were:
2466123W 1587982
Keep in mind that the bottom half of some of the numbers was obscured by the pan gasket, but I think I'm correct, or pretty close.
Any help or ideas ?
Thanks!
