I have a Hurst competion plus shifter with the numbers 3138 stamped in the housing and a shifter handle with the number 4177. There is no number on the reverse lever.

The second shifter is a Competition Plus with the numbers 2083 stamped in the housing and shifter handle 3836, the reverse lever is number 6370.

The third is a regular Hurst shifter and the only number I can find is on the reverse lever 6353.

Does anyone know the application for the shifters and handles? I want to know if any are correct for my 340 4-speed dart with a bench seat.

Also what is the Hurst shifter handle part number for a 69 Dart with a bench seat?

Did some google homework and this is what I found:

The "3138" Hurst shifter body (or housing) was used by GM, American Motors (Javelin & AMX), and early 1970's Fords (Mustang & Torino).

Looks like the 4177 arm is for a '66-'72 Tempest / GTO, 4 speed

2083 is an Aftermarket Hurst shifter housing. Handle 3836 is Hurst aftermarket for a 66-67 Dart without console.

6353 = '68-'69 B Body and '68-up A body, factory Mopar Hurst shifters

OK, So the shift housing with the 6353 reverse lever is factory correct for the 69 dart, and the 2083 housing would be the aftermarket Hurst upgrade.

Was there a site that had the part numbers for the Hurst shifters?

Thanks

The 2083 would probably be an upgrade for the factory Inland unit. I don't know if it would be an upgrade for the factory Hurst unit.

I didn't find just one site. I had to go all over, including a Camaro forum.

Does the 6353 have a handle on it or is it just the mechanism?
