Hurst shifter

I was wondering if anyone could provide me any tips on changing my column shift dart to a floor shift. I already have the Hurst quarter stick pistol grip shifter and plan to put it in soon. I'm wondering the best way and how hard it is to remove the old shifter and second if I need to mess with the neutral safety switch. The car will see some strip time and needs to meet NHRA neutral requirement. I heard about a block that can be installed on the transmission linkage side that acts as a neutral safety switch and I'm absolutely not an authority in this area so thought I should get some input before I find out too late and get in over my head. I'm sure some of you have already made this mod so your advice would be appreciated. ThanX
