I noticed the 290 pcs set is on sale again.

I got one as an early gift from the parents, and it's BEAUTIFUL.

A lot of these sets are a joke with bits and filler used to inflate the number of pieces but this set has a lot of sockets and the filler is kept to a minimum. IMO

I took the included case apart (drilled out 4 rivets) and made it into trays for the roll away tool box.

the 3/8 drive deep sockets go all the way from 5/16 up to 7/8 with no skips.

Very nice

I use these as my backup tools at my summer cabin and have had no complaints, metric or American. You can get some individual tools like sockets and wrenches at most Home Depot’s. The Husky stuff is pretty decent for the price, especially if you buy them on sale. I also carry them in my travel trailer for use on the road. It’s just my opinion, but I’m a former professional mechanic and a former Snap-On dealer, so I think I have decent standards for tools. The kits are well-thought out, in my opinion, and I have four or five of them to meet different needs. I like their wrench sets as well. The holders keep them compact and easy to keep track of.

The Husky brand tools are pretty decent. I bought the 270 piece set a couple years ago during the sale for use in the garage and for a less expensive set I could take to the self serve junk yards. The ratchets are fine tooth and seam to hold up well.

Actually, the first Husky tools I bought were a 1/4 drive ratchet and a socket to disconnect the battery in my truck. I was at home Depot for other stuff, got out to my truck and it started up and immediately stalled. The battery was weak and the voltage was dropping below 9 volts during cranking, causing it to go into security protection.

I was happy with the feel and function of that ratchet so when the sale came around I bought the set.
