so i am converting the 4 speed in my 75 scamp and got the hydrolics and bellhousing from a '91 dodge truck. it is for a small block so i know it will bolt to the motor but what will i have to do to put the hydrolic system in it? and if i do it will it help much? will it make it a faster clutch or what?

I've driven cable, linkage and hydro clutches and the hydraulic ones are smoother, not necessarily faster. I'm getting ready to do a 4-speed swap with a hydraulic clutch setup, and it's really only as difficult as mounting everything. Now if you are using the stock stuff that bolts to the bell, then you are half way there. You'll need to pull the z-bar and run the z-bar pusher to the clutch master cyl or fab a push rod after you drill a hole in the firewall. Is the master cyl from the truck plastic? I went to the local yard a pulled a alum 5/8 bore master and a metal slave cyl to build mine, didn't like the thought of a plastic one..

ya. i am gonna stick with mechanical for now. then see how i could do it. i dont like plastic either but it was on a fullsize work truck and held up good so i bet it would work but still lol.
