I just got taken for $400 from a group that was claiming to help me
sell my '63 Dodge with a ebay 21 day auction and listing on 16
automotive sites and Mopar specific sites.

I saw the ebay auction but never any web pages when I google searched
1963 Dodge Polara for sale.

I confronted them and asked if they can send over the list of the 16
sites they promise to list you on. 50% of the sites are a direct link
back to their own site with a different header. The remainder are
sites that are all under construction.

BEWARE of this group, basked out of Omaha, NE called Specialty
Marketing, Specialty Auto, etc.
Passing this on to the group because I don't want anyone ever to use
these guys again, and getting burned for $400 when times are tight. I
needto pay my taxes on my home and put it off to put up this ad. Now
I'm out $400 that could have gone to better use.

I wanted to advise the group!

I got scammed by the same group, when i was selling my wifes stratus. with me they fed off my craigslist ad. They got me for $70.00.I did end up selling it om ebay. So everyone keep your eyes out for these scumbags

I just herd a on a talk show that the FBI is involved and has caught 1.500 of these group's, be careful folks and read the new rule's just set up on CL.... Don't be fooled on add's saying Ebay is not responsible or will secure some of these con jobs
Selling car's and stuff at a crazy low price.... If it looks to good to be true .. then stay clear or do your home work and more!!!!!!!!!!... So sorry to hear any one and even worse a member got taken:angryfir:

Thanks for the heads up. I hope you can file a complaint and get your money back.

Just asking a question and wanting a honest answer.

When people refer to being scammed I think they had money taken from them with little to nothing in return. In this case there was money spent and services rendered.

So is this really a case of being scammed? Or is it a case of buyers remorse?
Don't care either way, seems like a shitty deal regardless.

there are re-sale shops that will list your item on ebay and give you around 50% of what it sells for.

you just drop the item off and they take the pictures and write the description, before the 2nd depression hit, those stores were doing good business

.....geez, that sucks you guys... but why would you trust anyone who came to YOU saying they will sell something for you.

I had that same idea when I was the first guy on the block with a digital camera and knowledge of Ebay. Now 90% of those U sell it shops are for lease again.. Same as the gold buyers. Sell them an ounce of .999 pure and they give you about 500 bucks. F that, be smart people, this is where an educated public is the best defense.

Heads up guys, still no refund from Visa, looking hopeless. I HATE getting burned. Car is not sold. It's on oldride.com, autabuy.com and collectorcarnation.com under 63 Dodge Polara. Yes it's the one for $79995.00. I have a min in mind but no one has even made an offer.

Will keep everyone posted.
