We'll I just picked up my new project, 1973 dart sport 340 convertriple. I'm probably going to get a bunch of crap for this but I'm going to change it up. The front nose is coming off and a 71 duster nose will be going on with the sharktooth grill. I'm also putting the 71 tailpanel on it with the 71 duster V24 wedge paint scheme. The car will be hemi orange with with orange seats and door panels just like someone elses car on this site:cheers:. I figured if I cant find one I just have to make one, and the bonus of it, it'll have a sunroof and alot of room in the back with the fold down rear seat set up. I'll be converting it to a 4 speed set up with bucket seats.

This car also came with another dart sport sunroof car for parts but it's just as nice as this car so I'm going to make that one a demon with the same color combo. I'll keep you guys updated on the progress.

Your car(s) - do them the way you want. Just curious - is the sunroof the folding top or the metal one?

I agree, it's your car, do it your way... but I'm gonna give you crap anyway. I think you have one sharp looking Dart Sport, rarely seen like that compared to '71 Dodge Dusters ( I know). I'd leave it. IMO the Dart Sport was one of the few good looking cars made after 73 and you have a relatively rare one with the roof hole. Where did you get it?

Car looks nice and solid. Good candidate for a restoration. :thumbrig:

I wish it was one of the folding sunroofs but it's the metal crank back sunroof, which I love also. I debated keeping it original but I dont know if I could stand it. I'll keep all the parts I take off of it in case I ever wanted to go back with it. I found them local on Craigslist in Mass area. I'll post some pics of the gold dart sunroof car soon, it's almost in better shape in some aspects. I was also thinking about painting the car out in curiouse yellow just like the one in this picture. I thought it would look real cool just like in this old ad. The green duster is the one we did up for my mom for Christmas. We could take them to a show and park them just like in the ad.

The front clip is an easy change. And (I'm betting) like you I don't like those huge tail lights. But changing the tail panel is a (relatively) permanent modification, and "I" wouldn't do it. But it isn't my car, so what I think really doesn't matter much.

Oh, that's you with the Green Twister (your mom's). Very cool car. No matter what color you painted it, that Dart Sport will look good next to your mothers, you do nice work. 71 Dusters are common enough, go find one and paint it like the ad, but keep the Dart Sport what it is, maybe change the color if you don't like dark green. Does it have the original engine?

no original engine or tranny, has the fender tag, broadcast sheet, vin tag. The broadcast sheet is still under the back seat.

That is a nice Twister, I wish you were my son. Got any more pictures?

Nice to see another "Mainer" on the site. :thumblef:
I'm only 40 miles north of you.
Good job on your mother's car. I'm sure your new projects will turn out just as nice. Tim

Wow - if that fender tag is any indication the gold car must be quite nice - Especially for a "PARTS" car. Cant wait to see pics.

Can't wait to see it done! Definitely keep us posted. My two cents? put a modern HEMI in it, and try to top this on the inside!;

Get busy.

Thanks guys! It's my brothers garage and were just finially getting every thing we need in it. 60x100 with a paint booth, lift, blasting cabnets, office to lounge around in and soon to have running water and a bath room. He had to sell one of his house lots to help pay for it and a nice convertible cuda, but now were ready to pound some of our projects out. Here's some more pics that show the inside of the garage. One of them shows a big painting I did on the side of the wall. It took me way to long(lol)..

Hi Tim, noticed you said you were from Maine and have a 73 dart sport. I have some extra parts from my 73 and if you want them you can have them. Basicly a couple of decent grills with head light bezels and maybe some more stuff once I go through it all.

60x100?!?!

thats bigger than most farms have

i wouldn't know what to do with that much space, i guess rent it out or fill it with more cars like you are!
